Michael George is New York's leading fashion florist and specializes in mono-floral arrangements that are disciplined and modern. His arrangements have been featured in publications such as Vogue; Harper's Bazaar; Martha Stewart Living; O, The Oprah Magazine; InStyle; Garden Design; and House Beautiful. George's clients include Vera Wang, Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Prada. He is also a founder and the artistic director of FlowerSchool New York. George will discuss the evolution of floral design in the 20th century. Advanced tickets recommended.

Quilts in a Material World Lecture Featured Lecture: Quilts in a Material World

Join us as textile historian, conservator, and curator Linda Eaton shares the stories behind the gorgeous early American quilts included in the Museum's featured exhibition Quilts in a Material World: Selections from the Winterthur Collection (link). She will discuss the lives of the makers, the education of young women and the political and economic developments that shaped the quilts' materials and designs. Eaton curates a collection of more than 20,000 textiles at the Winterthur Museum & Country Estate, the ancestral home of horticulturist and collector Henry Francis du Pont, in the Brandywine Valley of Delaware. Advanced tickets recommended.

A St. Louis jazz legend, tenor saxophonist Willie Akins has carved his musical niche in the jazz world for over 40 years playing ballads, bop, and his own originals. Music begins at 6:00 and 7:30 pm.
